In this short but powerful video, I explain why observation is the foundation of every edible landscape. Before we begin planting, planning, or designing, it’s essential to observe . Not just with our eyes, but with all our senses.
I invite you to slow down. To tune in to what’s truly alive in a piece of land. What’s already growing spontaneously? Where does the water flow? How does the sun move? Where do animals feel at home? How does the landscape respond throughout the seasons?
By observing carefully, we develop a relationship with the place. We discover patterns, bottlenecks, and opportunities. Only by truly looking can we work with nature instead of against it.
Observation isn’t a step you tick off. It’s an ongoing practice. An invitation to listen, tune in, and learn—over and over again.
