Edible Landscapes

Regenerative land planning and landscape design

What could your land become?

Perhaps you dream of a food forest, orchard, self-sufficient homestead, regenerative farm or something you cannot quite name yet.

I help landowners understand their terrain and bring different ideas together into one clear, beautiful and workable plan.

I read the whole landscape — soil, water, slope, orientation, vegetation, access, buildings and use — and connect this with what you would love the place to become.

From a first consultation, site assessment and soil analysis to a zoning plan, detailed landscape and planting design, implementation and follow-up.

Many ideas. One living landscape.

You may already imagine trees, water, gardens, animals or places to gather — but still wonder what belongs where and what the land itself allows.

Together, we develop a coherent vision for the whole site, shaped by your wishes and by the character of the place.

“Based on deep-rooted experience and passion for the profession, I support farmers and landowners in the development of their Edible landscape. Landscapes that regenerate and are ready to provide nourishment for this and the next generations.”

-Josse, Edible Landschap

Why Edible Landscapes?

Edible Landscapes aims to transform as much of our cultural landscape as possible into biodiverse, edible and livable places — landscapes that nourish people, animals, the soil and future generations.

Places where we can once again develop a creative relationship with the natural world and work together towards a more regenerative future.

With more than ten years of experience, I’m happy to guide you from A (apple) to Z (Ziziphus) in designing and bringing to life your homestead, farm, food forest or agroforestry system.

Together, we create a landscape that reflects your wishes, needs and dreams while working with the character and capacity of the land.

What can become part of your landscape?

No two properties need the same solution. Depending on your land, your needs and your ambitions, a design can bring production, ecology, beauty and practical use together into one coherent whole.

Because each element affects the others, they are considered together from the beginning — rather than added one by one later.

A complete land plan may include:
  • Soil health, compost and fertility
  • Water, access and infrastructure
  • Food forests, orchards and agroforestry
  • Gardens and productive growing
  • Animals integrated into the landscape

Why plan the whole landscape first?

A clear masterplan helps you make better decisions, avoid costly mistakes and develop your land step by step without losing sight of the whole. It creates coherence between ecology, production and everyday life.

The result:
  • Ecological and regenerative (CO₂, soil, water)
  • Healthy soil and water cycles
  • Practical phasing and implementation
  • Productive systems that support each other
  • Shaped around how you live and work
  • Resilient and beautiful for generations

Here’s what our satisfied clients are saying.

Josse designed our food forest. He listened carefully to our wishes and ideas, discussed everything with us, and contributed his experience and knowledge. The result is a beautiful design. The tree list he prepared – including where to find each species – was extremely helpful. There are so many options, and you often need to consider cross-pollination; thanks to his clear overview, everything became much easier.

Thank you, Josse!

The collaboration with Josse exceeded our expectations. What began as a simple request for some advice evolved into a holistic, professional, and highly practical approach to the detailed design of the food forest, the various borders around the house, and even the full development of the property. In addition, Josse focused on the costs and benefits of the entire project and provided numerous tips on purchasing and planting the plant material.
