Step 6: The Construction – From Dream to Living Landscape

The first steps feel like a ritual. The ground is prepared, the spots for trees and shrubs carefully marked. Then comes the planting itself – an act that seems so simple, yet is deeply connected to the future. Every seed, every young tree carries a promise.
Not everything has to be perfect right away. A food forest grows in layers, like a story unfolding page by page. First, the sturdy backbone of trees and shrubs, then the ground cover and herbs that complete the system. Sometimes even everything is planted at once on a part of the project!
The seasons work with you: autumn brings rooting, winter rest, spring growth.
And then comes the moment when you no longer just see the forest, but feel it. The rustling of the leaves, the scent of moist earth, the cheerful birds, the whispers of an ecosystem beginning to weave itself. This isn’t a garden. This is a living landscape.
