About Edible Landscape

Hello, I am Josse Horsten. With Edible Landscapes, I bring my passion for food forests and regenerative agriculture to life, driven by a deep connection between humans, plants, animals, and the natural elements that surround us.

With over 8 years of experience as a designer and manager of food forests, I have designed, implemented, and actively managed a wide variety of food forest projects and agricultural projects.

My extensive knowledge of organic and regenerative agriculture enables me to apply a thoughtful and tailored approach to every project—from small-scale food forest gardens to large-scale landscape designs.

My love for food forests began in the permaculture community “De Weegbree”, where I maintained the grounds for seven years. There, the mycelium of food forests literally crawled into me.

 

I didn’t just learn to design—I learned to sense how a landscape lives and evolves.

What makes me unique in my work with Eatable Landscape is my independent and intuitive perspective on every challenge. I don’t get stuck in a single design philosophy; instead, I combine insights from various systems. Every piece of land has its own character and potential.

 

By listening attentively, observing carefully, and trusting the process, I help you understand the essence of your place and translate it into a feasible and vibrant design. I take the time to reach the core and work with precision to lay a solid foundation.

 

But a good design doesn’t stop at a sketch. I also guide the implementation and ongoing care, so the plan can truly grow into a resilient and functioning ecosystem.

 

The greatest satisfaction comes from that moment when everything falls into place—when you feel the same harmony and balance as the landscape itself.
