About Edible Landscape

Hello, I am Josse Horsten. With Edible landscape I bring my passion for food forests and regenerative agriculture to life, driven by the deep connection between humans, plants, animals and all the natural elements that surround us.

With more than seven years of experience as a designer and food forest keeper, I have designed, constructed and supervised several food forests.

My broad knowledge of organic and regenerative agriculture helps me to find a well-considered approach for every project, from food forest gardens to large-scale landscapes.

My love for food forests began at permaculture community “De Weegbree”, where I took care of the grounds for seven years. There, the mycelium of food forests almost literally crept into me.

I not only learned to design, but also to feel how a landscape lives and evolves.

What makes me unique in my work with Eetbaar Landschap is my independent and intuitive view of every challenge. I don’t get stuck on one design vision, but combine insights from different systems. Every piece of land has its own character and potential.

By listening deeply, observing and trusting the process, I help you understand the essence of your place and translate it into a feasible, living design. I take the time to get to the core and work with precision to lay a solid foundation.

But a good design does not stop at a sketch. I also supervise the construction and follow-up, so that the plan actually grows into a resilient, functioning ecosystem.

The greatest satisfaction I get is that moment when everything clicks together—when you feel the same harmony and balance as the landscape itself.
